The IRD’s Attack on My ”Silly” 9/11 Theories
David Ray Griffin April 20, 2010 911Truth.org A right-wing neocon organization called the Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD)1 — which devotes itself to attacking religiously and socially progressive churches while supporting US imperial policies (going back to the Nicaraguan Contras funded illegally by the Reagan administration2 ) — has recently put out a press release attacking my next book, which is scheduled to be published this coming fall. Saying that I am “back with another outrageous book” in which I allege “new absurdities,” the IRD claims that I am “this time alleging that the Obama administration is attempting to undermine 9/11 conspiracy theorists.”3 False Assumptions about My Forthcoming Book However, if members of the IRD staff could have waited until my book had been published, so they could have read it before attacking it, they could have seen that it does no such thing. They could have seen that it simply deals with an article, entitled “Conspiracy Theories,” co-authored in 2008 by Cass Sunstein and another professor at Harvard Law School.4 Using the “9/11 conspiracy theory” as their primary example of conspiracy theories, Sunstein and his co-author argued that the government should try to undermine it and that the best way to do this would be through a method they called “cognitive infiltration.” In 2009, President Obama appointed Sunstein as the administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.5 My forthcoming book is entitled Cognitive Infiltration: An Obama Appointee’s Plan to Undermine the 9/11 Conspiracy Theory. Neither the title nor the book itself suggests that Obama will have Sunstein actually carry out this plan. The IRD’s premature criticism of my book is also wrong on another point. By speaking of what I will be “alleging,” the IRD was supporting its press release’s title, “9/11 Conspiracy Theorist Dreaming Up New Absurdities.” The IRD’s suggestion, in other words, is that I simply “dreamed up” the “absurdity” that someone connected to the Obama administration had a proposal for undermining 9/11 conspiracy theorists. However, the proposal made by Sunstein has been extensively discussed on the Internet.6 With a little research, therefore, the IRD could have learned that I had not simply made something up.

Schapelle Corby is currently serving a 20-year sentence for the importation of 4.2 kg of cannabis into Bali, Indonesia. Her conviction was based entirely on the prima facie evidence of marijuana in her luggage, and despite numerous requests by her defence team, no forensic evidence was ever produced linking Schapelle to the marijuana found in her backpack. Neither has Schapelle ever been linked to a drug distribution network. The judge who convicted her never returned a “not-guilty” verdict in 500 cases.
At the time of her arrest there was a great deal of diplomatic tension between Australia and Indonesia. The Australian government was pressuring Indonesia to arrest Abu Bakar Bashir, who was believed at the time to be behind the 2002 Bali bombing. Indonesia was not compliant, and many Indonesians felt that Australia was interfering in their affairs once again as they had during the East Timor crisis a few years earlier. After Schapelle’s arrest the diplomatic row escalated and there were fears that brooding resentment on both sides could lead to violence.
Something had to be done.
Schapelle said from the beginning the drugs were not hers, and for six months the Australian people and even high level government representatives were right behind her, but then a funny thing happened. Suddenly the major news networks began running stories filled with innuendo and journalistic spin, hinting that Schapelle might be guilty after all. The first of these damaging stories was released one week before her final court hearing in Bali, and carried the unsubstantiated rumour that Australian hydroponic dope was commonly sold in Bali under the name “Aussie Gold”. In between her conviction and final appeal scurrilous rumours about Schapelle and her family were circulated in every newspaper and TV channel in the country, including the tax-payer funded ABC. None of these rumours has ever been proven, and indeed the High Court found that Channel Seven had defamed the character of Schapelles’ sister Mercedes.
Since her final appeal was rejected Schapelle’s mental state has deteriorated. She is now in a state where she needs constant medical care. Her government and the Australian people have turned their backs.

Our plan was to go to the Vanier Parkway overlooking the 417 Highway from 2 4 pm and hold our 9/11 truth signs to forward the message of 9/11 truth.
We had lots of cars honk from the 417 Highway and the traffic on the Vanier Parkway definitely slowed as those passing by in the car slowed down to read our signs.
An Ottawa policeman stopped by after 45 minutes and asked us to leave the overpass due to safety concerns, could not provide a specific bylaw in regards to this. The Officer mentionned that he wasnt there to stop our protest however we had to leave the overpass. We did so but not before giving him a DVD.
Matt B: We asked Mr. policeman about 3 times about the specific law we were violating he basically gave us the people are complaining safety issue, please go past the overpass you might hurt yourself arguments turned out a blessing in disguise truth-actioned right in front of the rcmp 
In total , we have 10 individuals who took the time out of their Saturday afternoon to participate in the truthaction. A positive sign as we are looking forward to having an active summer of spreading the truth.
Here we are in front of the RCMP headquarters which has a lot of traffic going by on the Vanier Parkway and from Coventry Road.
We stayed in front of the RCMP headquarter for the remainder of the two hours. As Matt B put it: Some bottom line stats: After 2.5 hours of work, that any good person could do daily or weekly: 5-6 cars gave us F-Us ; 400-600, conservatively, honked and gave us thumbs up!

Professor Lance deHaven-Smith from Florida State University writes that SCADs involve highlevel government officials, often in combination with private interests, that engage in covert activities for political advantages and power. Proven SCADs since World War II include McCarthyism (fabrication of evidence of a communist infiltration), Gulf of Tonkin Resolution (President Johnson and Robert McNamara falsely claimed North Vietnam attacked a US ship), burglary of the office of Daniel Ellsberg’s psychiatrist in effort to discredit Ellsberg, the Watergate break-in, Iran-Contra, Florida’s 2000 Election (felon disenfranchisement program), and fixed intelligence on WMDs to justify the Iraq War…Credible scientific evidence brings into question the possibility that some aspects of the events of 9/11 involved State Crimes Against Democracy. Psychologically this is a very hard concept for Americans to even consider. However, ignoring the issue in the context of multiple proven SCADs since World War II seems far more dangerous for democracy than the consequences of future scientific inquiry and transparent, fact-based investigative reporting.”

Coming Soon to a Liberal Church Near You
David Ray Griffin, professor emeritus at a major United Methodist seminary, is on a new book tour presenting his convictions that the 9-11 attacks were part of a Bush Administration plot. Among his stops are several Episcopal and UM churches. (“Yes, Mildred. The speaker is a leftist nutcase who believes Bush was a devil, that Jesus wants us to overthrow the American ‘empire’ and that God is in the process of evolution… but they will be serving tea and those cream cakes you love afterward.”)
But don’t expect Griffin to target just Republicans. Oh no, he’s actually a pretty broad-minded crank. This latest book, for instance, contends that Team Obama shouldn’t carry on the war in Afghanistan. Worse yet, they seem to be trying to undermine 9-11 conspiracy theorists like himself. Humph. We can’t have that.
And, by the way, i’s not just the liberal Episcopalians and the United Methodists backing the august Dr. Griffin. His most controversial book about the Bush 9-11 conspiracy (For crying out loud, the fellow’s written 9 of them!) was published by Westminster John Knox Press, the official publishing house of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
And people actually scratch their heads over why these liberal denominations are dying?

Hello Truthseekers & Truthtellers,
We decided to try and wake up some Tea Party Express people by going to one of their tea parties in West Allis, WI at the gates of the Wisconsin State Fair. When we first unraveled our banner, the biggest banner at the Tea Party Express event, we started to get some negative reactions.
One guy tried to grab the DVD’s I had under my arm, as I was holding the banner, and crush them. I guess he didn’t believe in free speech. Of course we had the typical loud mouths trying to degrade us. Later, we were told by a police officer that the Tea Party Express rented the front gate property to the Wisconsin State Fair and that they wanted us to move off this property. The police officer said we could move to the curb side of the property.
We did manage to pass out about 100 DVD’s and flyers for the upcoming David Ray Griffin event in Milwaukee on April 30th. Our banner was also in the local section of the Milwaukee/Journal Sentinel…

which showed a picture of the crowd at the Tea Party Express (estimated at about 3 to 4 hundred) it was located way in the back of the picture. The important thing is almost everyone there observed the banner. By observing the banner it gets into their minds whether they like the message or not. Here in Milwaukee we have had an annual Milwaukee/Lake Michigan Tea Party For 9/11 Truth since 2006. You can find more pics and a short Youtube here:
