Our show includes highlights from the Pittsburgh G20 Summit where police used tear gas, pepper spray, rubber bullets and “sonic weapons” against University of Pittsburgh students during the Pittsburgh G20 Summit. Many of the students were not part of any demonstration but merely bystanders, curious to find a mass of armed riot police on their campus.

At the risk of exhausting our listenrers’ patience I attempt to break down and analyse the entire debacle, which is very complicated indeed.

Not surprisingly, the conclusions we reach in the show diverge somewhat from mainstream media commentary.

In the second half, Josh gives us a review of the sci-fi fantasy film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We aim to make film reviews a regular part of the show from here on in, so, if you like movies, please keep an eye on TNRA.

Other issues covered in the show include the “phone in a bikie” campaign launched in W.A., and the ongiong controversy over tasers after the revelation that a man in QLD was tased by police 28 times before dying of a heart attack.

I’m sure this episode has no connection to the recent Holocaust museum shootings and trail of yellow journalism that followed, but the season finale of Law and Order SVU featured actor Nick Stahl as Peter Harrison, a deranged artist whose life is transformed by 9/11. I don’t have an exact transcript, but at one point in the episode it is noted that Harrison became obsessed with 9/11 conspiracy theories and anti-government ideas.
