With the publication today of a half page spread in Sydney’s leading broadsheet newspaper, we can finally announce that the eight year blackout on reportage of the worldwide movement for truth and justice known as the 9/11 Truth Movement, has finally ended.

This is a very important day for all of us who have fought to bring this information to light, whether through street activism, blogging, or even just trying to convince our friends and family that this is real and important.

.. for some reason I thought that when I looked in the direction of the Trade Center before it came down, before No. 2 came down, that I saw low-level flashes. In my conversation with Lieutenant Evangelista, never mentioning this to him, he questioned me and asked me if I saw low-level flashes in front of the building, and I agreed with him because I thought — at that time I didn’t know what it was. I mean, it could have been as a result of the building collapsing, things exploding, but I saw a flash flash flash and then it looked like the building came down.

Q. Was that on the lower level of the building or up where the fire was?

A. No, the lower level of the building. You know like when they demolish a building, how when they blow up a building, when it falls down? That’s what I thought I saw. And I didn’t broach the topic to him, but he asked me. He said I don’t know if I’m crazy, but I just wanted to ask you because you were standing right next to me. He said did you see anything by the building? And I said what do you mean by see anything? He said did you see any flashes? I said, yes, well, I thought it was just me. He said no, I saw them, too.

The initiative to create a NYC Independent Commission with subpoena power to conduct a comprehensive and fact-driven investigation of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 is absolutely necessary! Only through open transparent public investigation will the unanswered questions of 9/11 be addressed. Foremost among the questions needing to be investigated is the fact that some 700 scientific professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, and physics have now concluded that the official explanation for the collapse of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings is implausible according to laws of physics. Especially troubling is the collapse of WTC 7, a forty-seven-story building that was not hit by planes, yet dropped in its own “footprint” in 6.6 seconds in the same manner as a controlled demolition. Steven E Jones and eight other scientists have conducted chemical research on the dust from the World Trade centers. Their research results were published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal Open Chemical Physics Journal, Volume 2, 2009. The authors write, “We have discovered distinctive red/gray chips in all the samples. The properties of these chips were analyzed using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The red portion of these chips is found to be an unreacted thermitic material and highly energetic.” Thermite is a pyrotechnic composition of a metal powder and a metal oxide, which produces an aluminothermic reaction known as a thermite reaction and is used in controlled demolitions of buildings.

Tonight’s show consists of an interview with my mother, Shirley Fenton, which I conducted in 2005 at her home in Canberra.

The subject of the interview is the Kennedy assassination which occured while my parents were living in Bakersfield, California. For many years as a child I heard discussions featuring the “grassy knoll” and “patsies” without really understanding the meanings.

Like many people, I watched Oliver Stone’s JFK when it was released in 1992 - but this was about events already in the sepia tones of history - interesting but seemingly of no real importance for understanding the present.  This is what I thought - but I was wrong.

I now know that the assassination of Kennedy has everything to do with contemporary events. Unless we understand what really happened on that day, no less than on September 11, 2001 , and indeed take steps to restore the principles of justice, liberty and democracy, our civilisation may well be doomed.

The first part of this interview consists of Shirley’s memories and impresssions of the Kennedy era, the effect of the assassination on her generation, and her perception of who was really responsible for the killing.

In the second half we look at the Vietnam war and the protest movement in which both of my parents were involved.
