Yesterday, White House press spokesman Tony Fratto said “No one could have anticipated” terrorists flying planes into buildings before 9/11 :

In an interview broadcast today, Secretary of State Rice said Bush didn’t ignore any 9/11 “warning”, because there was no “‘when, where, how”.

Is that believable?

BRYN MAWR – Growing up in Merion, Dave Herman says he sometimes thought about making films.Now, the 1986 Lower Merion High School grad is about to bring his first feature film back to the hometown crowd as his Able Danger debuts in Bryn Mawr and Wayne over the next couple of weeks.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Herman says of returning to the Main Line for his film’s release.

The movie’s title comes from a real government data-mining program called Able Danger that began in the late 1990s. The program reportedly was designed to track the finances of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization. However, a large amount of the data was destroyed in the months leading up to the 9-11 attacks.

Yesterday, Outlookindia.com reported that the CIA’s station chief in Delhi approached one of India’s intelligence agencies, the Research and Analysis Wing, and passed on a fairly specific warning;

“In mid-September this year, the CIA station chief in Delhi sought an urgent meeting with his counterpart in R&AW to pass on some critical inputs. This was part of an understanding that Indian and American intelligence had institutionalised in the aftermath of 9/11. From its assets in Pakistan and Afghanistan, American intelligence had come to learn that the Lashkar-e-Toiba was planning to launch a major terrorist attack in Mumbai, which would be carried out from the sea.“

“By the middle of November, as Indian intelligence continued to check out further inputs, the pieces of an intricate jigsaw puzzle began to fall into place. Sources say they learnt that the attack would come from the sea and that the Taj Hotel would be a major target. However, it was not known whether this attack would be carried out by planting bombs in the hotel or by terrorists carrying small arms. Indian intelligence assessments were tilting towards bombs being planted and security at the hotel was beefed up accordingly to prevent terrorists from planting bombs inside the premises.”

Ten months before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld approved an updated version of the U.S. Army’s secret operational Continuity of Government (COG) plans.

A draft document published by the whistleblowing website Wikileaks entitled, “Army Regulation 500-3, Emergency Employment of Army and Other Resources. Army Continuity of Operations (COOP) Program,” dated 19 January 2001, spells out changes in Army doctrine.

Issued by Headquarters, Department of the Army and signed off by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and the Secretary of the Army, the document is affixed with a warning: “Destruction Notice: Destroy by any method that will prevent disclosure of contents or reconstruction of the document.” The restricted document as published by Wikileaks states:

History. This regulation is a revision of the original regulation that was effective on 10 July 1989. Since that time, no changes have been published to amend the original.

Dear Mr. Spitzer,

I learned during a Congressional hearing before two sub-committees of the Armed Service Committee this past Wednesday (hear audio at http://www.abledangerblog.com) that you had acted in such a way as to allow the #2 at the your office, your Deputy Dietrich Snell, a former 9/11 Commission counsel, to avoid having to answer questions as to his role in the 9/11 Commission’s failure and/or refusal to disclose details about the Able Danger counter-terrorist program either to the 9/11 Commissioners or in the 9/11 Report itself.

According to Stephen Cambone, Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, who gave testimony before the Armed Services sub-committeess, there were five witnesses who said the program had identified Mohamed Atta by name and/or photo over a year before the attacks. According to Rep. Weldon an Able Danger chart created over a year before 9/11 showing a photo of Atta was presented by Representatives Weldon, Burton and Shays to Stephen Hadley, then Deputy to National Security Advisor Condi Rice, on September 25, 2001. On July 12, 2004 Dieter Snell met one of the Able Danger team members and witnesses, the actual hands-on head of the operation, Capt. Scott Phillpott, who told him that Able Danger had identified and planned offensive operations against four of the eventual 19 hijackers as part of what they called the “Brooklyn Cell.” According to Lt. Col Shaffer Dietrich Snell said, “What do you want me to do with this information, we go to print in 10 days?”

In tonight’s show we take a look at a variety of current stories in Australia and overseas, with special attention given to the ongoing global warming / carbon trading controversy and the pending execution of the convicted Bali bombers.

In the second half of the show we have two special guests, Emily and Matilda, with whom we engage in an extended open discussion of the question of responsibility in relation to the task of questioning official truth. In the discussion we express our views in regard to the criteria which are needed to distinguish valid investigative research from fantasy and speculation, and we take a look at a few fringe ideas such as the theories of David Icke and UFO’s.

Dr David Evans was a consultant to the Australian Greenhouse Office from 1999 to 2005.

But since 1999 new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming, and by 2007 the evidence was pretty conclusive that carbon played only a minor role and was not the main cause of the recent global warming. As Lord Keynes famously said, “When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?”

In his much-ballyhooed acceptance speech, Barack Obama declared that he would “finish the fight against the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11″. If Obama wishes to be true to his promise, he could begin with his own running mate, Senator Joe Biden.

Biden was one of several top Washington officials who met with Lieutenant General Mahmoud Ahmad, the head of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) on and around September 11, 2001.

The ISI is a foreign branch of the CIA. “Al-Qaeda” is a covert operation that is managed by Anglo-American military-intelligence. Ahmad, the “9/11 money man” who delivered funds to alleged lead suicide hijacker Mohammed Atta prior to the attacks, met personally with Biden on September 13, 2001.
